: Mauritanian artist attacked in by Senegalese opponents

The Mauritanian poet and musician Demba Ndiaye alias Ndillaan, close to the Senegalese-Mauritanian Pula-speaking diaspora, was attacked in on Wednesday June 21 by a group of individuals claiming to be from the “Anti-Third Term Brigade”.

The man of the art was taken to task at the level of line 6 of the Paris metro the same day when a triumphal reception was organized in favor of President Macky Sall. Asked to perform, Demba Ndiaye was expected on his way by individuals he had never met.

The filmed attack shows a group of men who challenge the artist before spraying him with liquid in the face and beating him. “Senegalese minister beaten up in Paris”, we read on the video released a few hours later and which has gone viral in social networks.

Did the attackers have confused Demba Ndiaye, author of beautiful and timeless pastorals, with a Senegalese minister? Everything suggests this in a Senegalese political context where the argument of force seems to be favored by the force of the argument by so-called democrats.

Returning from his surprises with bruises and a bruised body, the artist filed a complaint with Mantes La Jolie where the local authority immediately took up the case and got in touch with his counterpart in Paris in order to provide a learned response. to what cannot be tolerated in the country of Voltaire. A petition has been launched to support the artist.
