After the death of Amandine, a 13-year-old schoolgirl who died of starvation on August 6, 2020, the public prosecutor of Montpellier requested life imprisonment against her mother Sandrine Pissarra, Friday January 24 before the Assize Court of Hérault.
In his indictment, the Attorney General, Jean-Marie Beney, also demanded a sentence of 18 years' imprisonment against Sandrine Pissarra's former companion, Jean-Michel Cros, considering him guilty of having “deprived of care or food“his daughter-in-law, who weighed only 28 kg when she died on August 6, 2020.
