???????? Tarn. A robber tries to flee from swimming and ends up drafted in hypothermia by the gendarmes, he thanks them “a thousand times”

In the Tarn, an attempted robbery robbery ended unexpectedly. After trying to rob an store, a 20 -year -old young man tried to flee by diving into a river, before being saved by the gendarmes while he was in hypothermia.

A poorly prepared team from the region

The case dates back to Thursday, January 16. Four individuals from the Lyon region, including three minors and a 20 -year -old young man, went to the Tarn to try several robberies. The alleged brain, a resident of Saint-Priest, would have acted to repay a debt of 4,000 euros, according to information relayed by the 100% radio media.

Their first attempt at burglary in Carmaux quickly failed. They then attack an SFR store in a mazamet commercial area, but come up against closed doors. Far from giving up, the group then fell back on a neighboring orange store.

“Ultra-Violet” robbery

Despite their amateurism, the robbery of the Orange store took place in a particularly tense atmosphere. A client present on site testified at the helm of the Criminal Court:

“It was ultra-violent, everything went very quickly. I thought I was going to die, that they were going to take me hostage or that I was going to receive a lost ball. »»

Two of the robbers force an employee to open the trunk under the threat. But the police intervene quickly, ending their attempt.

A leak in the Thoré river

If the three minors are arrested on the spot, the 20 -year -old chooses to flee. In his run, he struck a gendarmerie vehicle, abandoned his car, then plunges into the Thoré, a river crossing the Tarn.

However, his flight turns short. In a state of severe hypothermia after swaming in frozen waters, it is drafted by the gendarmes. During his hearing, he wanted to thank them:

“The gendarmerie saved me, I thanked them a thousand times!” »»

A conviction to the court

Without a criminal record, the young man was tried on Monday, January 20 at the Correctional Court of Castres on Monday, January 20. He was sentenced to 30 months in prison, including a probationary suspended year, for attempted the aggravated theft and concealment of goods.
