The districts of the Village Terre-Rouge and avenue Christophe-Colomb are deprived of telephone and the Internet as a result of cable flights. In all, nearly 200 customers are concerned. calls for vigilance and to point out these acts of vandalism.

In Saint-Laurent-Du-Maroni, the inhabitants of two districts have been facing major telephone and internet clippings for several days. These interruptions, due to cable flights, mainly affect the operator's customers Orange and disrupt their daily lives.

During the night of Friday 17 to Saturday 18 January, About 300 meters of cables were stolen from the Village Terre-Rougeimpacting sixty subscribers. Simultaneously, cables were also stolen in Christophe-Columbus avenue (Route de Saint-Jean), depriving between 120 and 130 Internet access customers and fixed telephony.

Orange said these acts of vandalism occurred on three different sites during the same night. However, on one of the sites, the thieves were embarrassed and could not carry out their sabotage attempt. The operator claims that his teams are mobilized to assess the damage and transport the equipment necessary to restore the lines as soon as possible.

Faced with the recurrence of these thefts, Orange invites residents to report any suspicious fact or any malicious act to the competent authorities. This cooperation, according to the operator, could help prevent other incidents and protect essential communication infrastructure.
