In January 2025, the town of Sorgues welcomed its all new health centerthe fourth of its kind in Vaucluse. After Avignon, Cadenet and Apt, it is now in Sorgues that the Departmental Council responds to the growing needs for medical care, according to information from Vaucluse Hebdo.
In a region where the medical desert weighs heavily on residents, the opening of this health center is a great step forward.
An initiative of the Vaucluse Health Plan
This Sorgues center is part of the Department's Health Plan, launched in 2022 by the President of Vaucluse, Dominique Santoni. The objective is clear: fill areas where healthcare provision is insufficient and guarantee access to quality care for all Vauclusians.
Since the opening of the first center in Avignon, these initiatives have shown their effectiveness with more than 25 000 consultations carried out to date in the first three centers.
-An establishment worth 112,000 euros
The center required an investment of 112,000 euros for its renovation and it offers a reception capacity which should expand over time, in particular with the arrival of a team of three general practitioners, a medical secretary and of a medical assistant.
Doctor Philippe Narcante, a retired general practitioner, is currently in charge of consultations in this center, and is available on Monday afternoons as well as all day Tuesday and Wednesday.
Consultations can be made by appointment from Monday to Friday, by telephone on 04 90 16 10 40 or via the Doctolib website.
