“You must quickly find out if your car is affected and have the repairs carried out,” urges the spokesperson for the Mobilité Club France Yves Carra, Wednesday January 22 on franceinfo. The Stellantis brand is recalling more than a million Citroën C3 and DS3 vehicles equipped with the defective Takata airbag throughout Europe and the French Overseas Territories.

“We have to worry about it, obviously. Especially in southern Europe, because there is a deterioration due to humidity and heat”insists Yves Carra. He recalls that “the first wave of recalls, launched in spring 2024, which concerned the Antilles and southern Europe, was accompanied by what we call a 'stop drive', that is to say we received a letter and we were mainly told 'don't use your car'.

The defect caused damage to the airbag which, “when it exploded, it threw pieces of metal, a bit like a bomb or a grenade”, explains the spokesperson for the Mobilité club France. “In Northern Europe. It seems that this problem is less urgent, delays Yves Carra. So we bring the car, get it repaired, and drive straight away with it.” More, “a car driving in the north may have driven in the south a few years before. We don’t necessarily know if it has changed ownership”he nuances.
