Organized by the Ministry of Culture and the National Book Center (CNL), this 9e edition will revolve around the theme of heritage in all its dimensions: monuments and works of art, customs, know-how, memories and family stories. The writer Maylis of Kerangal and the journalist Stéphane Bern will sponsor this new edition which will take place throughout France from Thursday January 23 to Sunday January 26.
For four days and four nights, 1,000 events will be thus programmed in 550 places. This first major cultural event of the year will be an opportunity to offer meetings and activities in libraries, bookstores, schools, museums, cultural and artistic places, associative and solidarity spaces, centers prisons, French Institutes and heritage sites.
Literary café in Crécy-la-Chapelle
In Seine-et-Marne, go to the Château de Champs-sur-Marne on Saturday 25 (5 p.m.) and Sunday 26 January (3 p.m.) to attend the “Chronicles of the Château”. A guided tour for two voices will allow you to discover the exceptional decorations and collections of the castle in a different way.
A Crécy-la-Chapellea literary café awaits you on Friday January 24 (7:30 p.m.). Located on the banks of the Morin, the Café bookstore (which also serves as a tea room) is run by passionate booksellers and offers books in all areas (literature, children's books, human sciences, comics, etc.).
-A Marchémoret, the “Pirates of the Twelve Horizons” association will meet at the Notre-Dame de l’Assomption church on Saturday, January 25 (5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.). This will be an opportunity to make a tour d’horizon countries, continents and peoples, but also heritage, traditions and tales. Two sessions will be offered: one for children with an interactive story and another for all ages where stories will be told.
Two artists expected in Avon
A Melun, one week after the book and old paper fair, the “Place des Couleurs” association will organize, on January 25 and 26 (8 p.m.) in its third venue called “Place D,” two evenings around tales and lectures of literary fragments devoted to the heritage of slavery. There will also be a sharing of readings between the participants followed by a debate.
Finally, at Avonthe author and illustrator Anaïs Brunet will present his album “Belle Maison” on January 25 (2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.) at the Les Sources Vives media library. She will also host a creative workshop. In the evening (8:30 p.m.), Clarisse Griffon du Bellayauthor and sculptor (descendant of the last survivor of the Raft of the Medusa), will present her book “Ressacs” retracing her artistic journey. The media library will also offer to revisit the city's heritage by modeling a lithophane as part of a atelier Digilab.
