Diplomacy – Ambassador Puneet Talwar returns to Washington after the departure of the Biden administration

End of mission. Puneet Talwar, who served as United States Ambassador to Morocco since November 21, 2022, completed his term on January 20, 2025.

Following her departure, Aimee Cutrona assumed the role of Chargé d’Affaires, representing U.S. interests in Morocco until a new ambassador was appointed.

Since joining the diplomatic service in 1999, Ms. Cutrona has served in various posts in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

Note that the process of nominating and confirming a new ambassador involves a selection by the President of the United States and confirmation by the United States Senate, which can take several months.
