the sentence confirmed on appeal

Last October, Jason Berger, 23, was sentenced to two years in prison by the Lons-le-Saunier criminal court, for a chase with the police dating from March 19, 2021. That day , refusing to be checked, he ran red lights, took roundabouts in the wrong direction and drove at a speed estimated at 150 km/h in certain streets of the city. Not far from the station, he lost control of his vehicle, which ended up on its roof.

The young man had decided to appeal the sentence which had been handed down in Jura and he therefore found himself in the dock again, this time in Besançon, this Thursday January 16. A new trial which changed nothing in the case, the sentence handed down remaining fixed at two years in prison.

In accordance with our editorial charter, the identity of the defendants is revealed for sentences of at least one year in prison with a committal warrant or two years in prison without a committal warrant.
