The prefect wants to fight against drug trafficking and road crime

The prefecture of Seine-et- hosted the greeting ceremony of prefect Pierre Ory on Thursday January 16 in . The latter addressed the internal security forces (FSI) represented by the national police and gendarmerie of Seine-et-Marne.

This moment of exchange and conviviality was an opportunity for the State representative to salute the work and action of those who contribute to internal security. He encouraged them to continue in 2025 their missions of maintaining public order and security of people and property in the department.

Daily security, another priority of the prefect

For this new year, Pierre Ory has targeted two priority scourges to combat: drug trafficking and road crime. “The fight against drug trafficking will constitute the absolute priority of security and judicial action. Furthermore and with regard to the road safety assessment in 2024 (70 people died, Editor’s note), we have also included the prevention of road crime as a strong axis of the missions of the FSI“, he confirmed during his intervention.

The prefect also wanted to thank the other forces present in the Seine-et-Marne territory which contribute to internal security in coordination with the police and the gendarmerie: the municipal police, the Sentinelle reinforcements, the 21/1 gendarmerie squadron mobile of Melun, as well as the firefighters of the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Seine-et-Marne (Sdis 77).

Finally, Pierre Ory spoke of the finalization of the departmental action plan to restore everyday security (PADRSQ) desired by Bruno Retailleau, the Minister of the Interior. This plan must make it possible to “act better against delinquency and its local problems“. As an operational tool, it will define “priority actions consistent with territorial delinquency“, in the words of the prefect.
