On January 25, at 2:30 p.m., a conference on migration in the Gers will bring together experts and witnesses at the Sainte-Bernadette church in Auch. Sylvie Bukhari de Pontual and Jean-François Berdah will provide academic insight.
The history of migrations in the Gers, international law and the social thought of the Church: these three major themes will be at the heart of a conference which will be held on January 25.
The meeting will be held at the Saint-Bernadette church in Auch, in the presence of witnesses who have experienced immigration in the Gers.

They will be surrounded by Sylvie Bukhari de Pontual, professor of public international law and international human rights law at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics and Law of the Catholic Institute of Paris. From 2016 to 2024, she also chaired the Catholic Committee against Hunger and for Development, Terre Solidaire. She will speak alongside Jean-François Berdah, lecturer in Contemporary History at Toulouse Jean-Jaurès University.
Both will shed academic light on the subject.
