Suspected member of organized crime arrested during road check

Laurent Emmanuelli, considered a figure in organized crime, was arrested on Saturday January 18, 2025, during a routine road check carried out by gendarmes from the Moltifao motorized brigade, on RT 20, near Omessa. Although under judicial control prohibiting him from going to Corsica, he was arrested on the island. Referred to the public prosecutor's office in Bastia, he was placed in pre-trial detention at the Borgo remand center, pending the examination of his file by the judge of freedoms and detention.

Laurent Emmanuelli, well known to the justice services, is also being prosecuted as part of the investigation into the assassination of Antoine Francisci, a 22-year-old young man shot and killed on May 13, 2019 in Pietralba. In this case, investigated by the Specialized Interregional Jurisdiction (JIRS) of Marseille, Laurent Emmanuelli is referred to the criminal court for “non-reporting of crime” et “editing the crime scene.” Five individuals, including three for “murder” on Antoine Francisci, “attempted assassination“against Laurent Emmanuelli and”criminal association”, will be tried next September before the Bouches-du-Rhône Assize Court.
