Seine-Saint-Denis: La Courneuve hosts the School Chess Championship

The Chess Club La Courneuve, Generation Miraclewill organize a significant event on February 1: the Departmental School Chess Championship. This event will bring together hundreds of school and college students from across the Seine-Saint-Denis for a competition marked by strategy and respect.

Matches punctuated by five fast-paced rounds

This championship, open to the public, will be held at Boughera El-Ouafi Gymnasium of La Courneuve. Participants will compete in rhythmic matches par five rounds at a rapid pace (2 x 12 minutes + 3 seconds per move). An awards ceremony will crown this day where nearly 300 young talents are expected.

“Chess is a sport, and so naturally when you become strong, you want to compete. Today, thanks to these tournaments, there are several young people who are promising, they are budding champions, and it is encouraging to see them improve little by little.“, emphasized Romain Marillerchess teacher at the Generation Miracle club.

The driving role of Generation Miracle

Since its creation in 2021, the club Generation Miracle knew how to establish itself as a key player from the development of chess to La Courneuve and beyond. Present in the elementary schoolsTHE colleges and the media librariesit offers every week supervised workshops by certified facilitators. This involvement has helped develop the strategic, cognitive and social skills of many young people.
