Weather: yellow vigilance for Haute-Corse this Monday, instability in the south-east

Météo- has placed Haute-Corse on yellow alert for the risk of thunderstorms this Monday, January 20, marking the impact of the Gabri depression on the Isle of Beauty. Furthermore, the two Corsican departments are also under yellow alert for avalanches, reinforcing the meteorological instability in this region.

The south-east of France, notably Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Corsica, will be particularly affected by sustained showers and snow from 1,200 meters above sea level. This Monday, conditions will remain difficult for residents of these areas, who are invited to limit their travel and stay informed.

At the national level, the cold persists with widespread morning frosts over most of the territory, sparing only the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts. In the afternoon, temperatures will remain below seasonal norms, oscillating between 1°C in the Alsace plain and 13°C in the southwest.

Despite some clearings forecast in the north and west, the weather will remain unstable over a large part of the territory. Freezing fog, common in northern regions, and precipitation in the southeast require increased vigilance, particularly for motorists.
