Australian Open > Humbert, after his defeat: “Zverev has been talking about it and saying it for two years. I don't know if it's sincere, but I don't care, I do my thing”

“He is a complicated player to play, in recent months he has really taken steps forward. It's 14e world and I think he has a good chance of becoming top 10 very soon”said Alexander Zverev during the on-court interview after his victory against Ugo Humbert in the round of 16 of the Australian Open.

A statement to which the French number 1 returned in comments reported by The Team.

“He’s been talking about it and saying it for two years already (smile). It's great. I don't know if it's sincere, but I don't care, I do my thing. I try to give the best of myself. I don't necessarily have any regrets, I try until the end to find solutions, to give my all. I do this every day. And if one day I'm top 10, I'll be super happy. But it is not an end in itself. I have less of that in mind. I'm not going to take the rankings at the end of my career with me. I'm not going to live only in that, like last year (where) I was very frustrated. I found it difficult to move on when times were a little harder. »
