Nina Pinzarrone climbed to the top of the podium at the Belgian figure skating championships for the second year in a row, Saturday evening in Hasselt. The 18-year-old from Brussels was accompanied by Daniëlle Verbinnen, 2nd, and Shadé de Brauwer, 3rd.
Unlike these two rivals, Pinzarrone did not skate in Limburg. The championship taking place ten days before the European Championships in Tallinn, the Royal Belgian Figure Skating Federation (FRBPA) gave the best skaters the opportunity to compete for the title at the beginning of December during the Golden Spin in Zagreb. .
Pinzarrone, second in the Croatian capital behind the American Alysa Liu, had totaled 193.49 points. Loena Hendrickx and Jade Hovine, the other two best Belgian skaters, had given up on lining up in Zagreb.
Pinzarrone, 3rd in Euro 2024, won his first national title in Mechelen last year. Verbinnen won silver in Hasselt with 117.49 points, De Brouwer got 93.51 points. No skaters competed in the senior men’s event.
