70 students with disabilities benefit from free consultations

A multidisciplinary medical caravan was organized on Saturday for the benefit of 70 students with disabilities, educated in educational establishments in the commune of El Menzel, in the province of Sefrou.

This campaign, organized by the provincial directorate of National Education of Sefrou, under the supervision of the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) of Fez-Meknes, was supervised by a specialized medical and paramedical team.

This social action, initiated in partnership with the Return to Hope Association for cochlear implant wearers, included consultations in general medicine, physiotherapy, speech therapy, hearing correction, psychological support, as well as in sensorimotor therapy and special education.

Hicham Halim, head of the inclusive education department at AREF in Fez-Meknes, told MAP that this campaign is part of the implementation of the national program of inclusive education and 2022-2026 roadmap for education and training.

According to him, this campaign is likely to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the structuring program relating to inclusive education.

He added that this initiative aims to provide all students with disabilities with medical records allowing them to integrate more easily into educational establishments, to adapt their learning, as well as their assessments and exams, and to participate fully. to school life.

Since the launch of the national inclusive education program, the Sefrou Provincial Directorate has equipped and adapted 17 inclusive schools spread across different zones, thanks to a partnership with AREF, the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) and the Sefrou Provincial Council.

The Riyad school, which hosted this campaign, is part of the network of inclusive establishments in the province. It has an integrated educational complex with three rooms dedicated to care, rehabilitation and physiotherapy services for students in this school pool, in partnership with the Mafatih Arrahma Association.

This initiative aims to provide an inclusive and supportive educational environment for all students, including those with special needs or disabilities.
