Waterways of France (VNF) has just launched its call for projects for the year 2025, entitled “Let's go on an adventure! “. This call is aimed at communities and associations wishing to promote river heritage through artistic, educational or heritage initiatives. According to VNF, these themes aim to encourage “initiatives which promote meeting and exchange, while highlighting the history and cultural riches of the waterways”.
This call is part of a global strategy to develop the waterways managed by VNF on the Centre-Bourgogne network. It aims to boost tourist, cultural and social activities around canals and rivers. “We want to encourage projects that make waterways accessible, user-friendly and steeped in history,” specifies VNF.
The territories concerned bring together several emblematic canals, including the Briare and Loing canal, as far as southern Seine-et-Marne is concerned.
Aid up to 3,000 euros
Candidates have until Friday February 28 to submit their application. It must include detailed information on the project, including the location, date of completion, planned sustainability, an estimated financing plan as well as visuals illustrating the initiative.
-A jury of experts will meet between March 17 and 28 to select the winners. The latter will benefit from a subsidy to realize their projects, with aid ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 euros depending on their classification.
Voies navigables de France manages 6,700 km of river network: » This call for projects reflects our desire to create opportunities for activities around the river, while strengthening social and cultural ties,” concludes VNF.
Note that Nemours is used to celebrating the Loing, notably with its summer meeting “Nemours du fil du Loing” and its traditional UFO race, unidentified floating objects!
