The Moroccan junior judo selection won 29 medals (8 gold, 8 silver and 13 bronze) during the first day of the African International Open.
Organized until January 19 at the Mohammed V complex in Casablanca, under the aegis of the Royal Moroccan Judo Federation, the African International Judo Open aims to promote judo in Africa and strengthen sporting exchanges between nations.
On the men’s side, Morocco’s gold medals were won by Ahmed Alaoui Chrifi (-60 kg), Aniss Ijioui (-66 kg), Nouh Lahmouri (-73 kg) and Amine El Azzouzi (-100 kg).
These women, Meriem El Maakoul (-48 kg), Amina Alaoui Charifi (-52 kg), Malak Lakhal (-78 kg) and Taouab Aboulizza (+78 kg) are all grown.
The program provides for the entry into competition of cadets this Friday in the categories of less than 50, 55, 60, 66, 73, 81, 90 and more than 90 kg, while the cadets will compete in the categories of less than 44, 48, 52, 57, 63, 70 and over 70 kg.
-The senior competitions will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
Placed under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, this event brought together 304 participants (186 boys and 118 girls) representing 34 countries.
