A 75-year-old skier died this Friday, January 17, after a fall at the Auris-en-Oisans resort, in Isère. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 75-year-old man, originally from , died this Friday, January 17 after a heavy fall in the ski area of ​​the Auris-en-Oisans resort, in Isère.

According to initial information, the skier lost control of his skis at high speed and fell alone on a red slope in this area located in the Grandes Rousses massif. He was then accompanied by friends.

The Samu was then alerted. But given the urgency of the situation, the CRS Alpes de l'Isère intervened as quickly as possible using the Dragon 38-1 helicopter. Despite resuscitation attempts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 3 p.m.

Mountain rescuers from Isère, but also from Haute-Savoie, carried out numerous interventions this Friday, due to falls on snow.

The wind, cold and lack of new snowfall made conditions difficult. Rescuers are calling on skiers to be vigilant for the coming days.
