Bakel, Jan 16 (APS) – The rehabilitation work on the Kidira-Bakel road (east) had an execution rate of 87%, revealed, Thursday, the project manager of the Tambacounda-Kidira-Bakel road, Massamba Diop.
“The work is going very well. Currently, we are nearing the end of the construction work. The advancement rate is 87%. I think that by the next winter, we will deliver the work,” said Mr. Diop, in an interview with the APS.
According to Massamba Diop, the work started in 2022 extends over a 65 km line (Bakel-Kidira), including the Kidira bypass section, 8 km long.
“Currently, the main roadway is almost complete. All that remains are the bridges, which number 11, 7 of which need to be reconstructed and the 4 others need to be rehabilitated,” he said.
He assured that the reconstruction work on three bridges has already been completed.
“The other bridges have all been demolished. The teams have been reinforced to complete the work on time. There is no delay regarding the delivery date of the road,” he assured.
-Massamba Diop assured that the floods that occurred in September and October did not damage the Ageroute structures.
“With the flooding, nothing was damaged. This phenomenon allowed us above all to strengthen the road, especially in terms of sanitation and other comfort works,” said the Ageroute manager.
The rehabilitation of the Ballou, Gourel Bouli-Brifal and Saré tracks is also underway, as well as the roads in the town of Bakel and Kidira, he explained.
“We will soon complete the tracks and bridges and the site will be delivered,” he promised.
