Matam, Jan 16 (APS) – The bank of the Senegal River is the site chosen in the Matam region for the launch of the edition of the “Sétal sunu réew” clean-up day scheduled for February 1, the governor informed Thursday, Said Dia.
“For the clean-up day, the river bank was chosen in the region. This site is a showcase of the Matam region, especially for those who come from Mauritania by the river. We must improve hygiene in this place by removing all the garbage,” he said during a meeting with stakeholders in this day of human investment.
The head of the regional executive believes that this site must be well cleaned so that it is even more accessible.
Said Dia underlined that young people, women, village chiefs, the “bajenou gox” adhered to this choice and all promised to do what was necessary for the mobilization to be successful.
“Each prefect has developed an action plan for this day. The resources have also been released. Everything is ready to make this day a great success. We are counting on the populations for a strong mobilization,” he declared.
-Sites have also been selected in the two other department capitals, Kanel and Ranérou, and the districts for this day.
During previous days, sites such as the Matam and Ourossogui hospitals, the regional bus station, the surroundings of the Matam cemeteries and the Ourossogui market had been chosen by the authorities.
