We imagine that there will once again be many visitors; especially since the Notre-Dame Cathedral reopened its doors to the public on December 8. After more than five years of closure, following the tragic fire in April 2019, the legendary Parisian monument has had a makeover. Enough to arouse the curiosity of many Parisians and tourists. Thus, as announced by the public management of the monument on January 15, 860,000 visitors have already been able to enter the cathedral renovated since its reopening. This attendance of 29,000 people per day now exceeds that before the fire in 2019. This 2025 edition of the Bread Festivalat the foot of the restored Notre-Dame Cathedral, promises to be even more beautiful.
For the very curious and the little gourmands, this huge ephemeral bakery is an opportunity to learn everything about the making of bread, pastries and other sweet products thanks in particular to our friends the bakers and pastry chefs of Greater Paris who will have the pleasure of introducing you to their profession through sharing friendly and festive moments.
Please note that not all bread sellers have the right to call themselves “ boulanger » or « bakery “. Also, the Bread Festival is an opportunity for the profession to highlight its differences, to promote breads made according to the rules of the art and to remind people that good bread has a name: French Traditional Bread.
As a reminder, the Bread Festival was launched in 1996 at the initiative of Jean-Pierre Raffarin, then Minister of SMEs, Commerce and Crafts. Since then, the event has returned every year around May 16, the day of Saint-Honoré, patron saint of millers, flour merchants, bakers and pastry chefs.
