“If there are no major infrastructures planned in Seine-et-, these developments will provide many services to the inhabitants of the department…” Francis Guerrier, the mayor of Cély-en-Bière (Seine-et-Marne) launched the public consultation, proposed by APRRthe company managing the A6 motorway. The company wishes to launch a monumental project, over a 21.5 km portion, between Cély-en-Bière and Evry-Courcouronnes, without new installation of a toll barrier….

“Safety and fluidity”: APRR tracks to improve traffic on the A6 south of

Residents have until February 28 to give their opinion on the developments, online or in the town halls concerned (Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry, Saint-Sauveur-sur-École, Perthes, Saint-Germain-sur-École and Cély- en-Bière in Seine-et-Marne), during this consultation accompanied by the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP).

“Since we have operated this portion, we have given priority to the safety of users on this fundamental road axis, but characterized by daily congestion, because it is not more suitable for mobility current,” believes Sébastien Blanchead of the development operations department at APRR.

If this titanic project – at an estimated cost of €170 million – has several components, one of them concerns the fluidification and security users. “In the northern part of the route, we are considering the creation of intersecting lanes,” explains Sandra Quivet, major projects operations manager at APRR.

Concretely, these are additional lanes, dedicated to motorway entrances and exits, which will allow ffacilitate the integration of motoristswithout slowing down users who remain on the A6. They are considered between Coudray-Montceaux and Ormoy interchanges (Essonne) and between Villabé and the Francilienne interchange.

APRR also mentions two hypotheses of shared lanes: a lane reserved for carpooling, taxis and low-emission vehicles (on the fastest lane and flexible depending on traffic) and/or a lane reserved for public transport, on the band emergency stop.

“For the moment, we are favoring the lane reserved for public transport, especially since four Car Express lines from Ile-de- Mobilités (IDFM) are planned on the A6,” recalls Sandra Quivet. The other hypothesis is not considered a priority, but is of course feasible. »

“It’s hell morning and evening”

Still located in Essonne, at the Villabé area, the project also provides for the creation of a multimodal exchange hub. “Here, motorway users will be able to change modes of transport with connections to bus lines, proximity to a cycle path, but also a pedestrian bridge and multi-service spaces (coworking, relaxation)”, lists Sébastien White.

During the debates, the question traffic jams – in particular – quickly came to the table: “I’m making the trip ebetween Perthes and Corbeil-Essonnes every day and it's hell morning and evening, said a resident. I find it hard to believe that the creation of such a center will unclog the A6 if we concentrate services there, even if I see many advantages with the futurs Cars Express… »

“We must facilitate other mobility”

APR Response

A: “This transition location will provide access to other modes of transport and we hope that the IDFM offering will increase. » And the Perthoise retorts: “If there are not enough buses, people will take the car and it will be worse…”

For the mayor of Cély, who sees the carpool area of the Department installed in his village be used more and more, “it is necessary for these Car Express to pass through there, precisely to facilitate other mobility”… A message that he will send back to the Region, to also relieve “the secondary network. »

“I have the impression that everything has already been recorded by APRR,” said a resident. Do we really have any room for maneuver? » “It’s a project in a complex sector, but we are doing this consultation in a proactive approach, given the challenges and the scale of the project: everyone can give their opinion,” replied head of the development operations department. at APRR.

In terms of safety, the project also provides for the addition of safety barriers across the entire section, as well as fences, to prevent animal crossings and potential collisions. In addition to the consultation, a public inquiry will be scheduled for spring 2026 for construction to begin by 2027. The equipment should see the light of day by 2030.
