Single lane towards Toulouse
The vehicles detained before the accident were then able to get back on the road, thanks in particular to the opening of the central reservation allowing these vehicles to make a safe U-turn with the police.
Recovery operations were able to begin to evacuate the vehicles involved in the accident. After unloading one of the trucks, specialized wreckers, accompanied by cranes, proceeded to lift it.
In the direction of Toulouse, after the gendarmerie findings, numerous cleaning operations were then necessary in order to be able to reopen this axis to traffic in complete safety. Traffic was able to resume shortly after 6 p.m. on one lane.
The two left lanes will remain closed
The left lanes of the A64, in both directions of traffic, will nevertheless remain closed to traffic in order to allow repair and restoration work on the central reservation and safety barriers.
They should remain so until the weekend, specifies Vinci Autoroutes, which recommends being well informed before any trip to this sector and calls on drivers to be extremely vigilant in this sector where the teams are always intervening.
