Maine-et-. “The use of restaurant vouchers finally extended! », rejoices MP Anne-Laure Blin

Parliament definitively adopted this Tuesday, January 14, 2025, after a vote by the Senate, the extension until the end of 2026 of an exemption which allows the use of meal vouchers to purchase food products to be prepared, such as rice, oil or flour. This exemption – permitted following Covid to improve the purchasing power of workers – expired on December 31, 2024 due to censorship by the government of Michel Barnier, who had postponed this Senate vote. But the upper house took up this text as soon as the parliamentary session resumed, approving the measure in the same terms as the National Assembly while calling for a major reform to modernize the meal voucher. “Interrupted because of the vote on the motion of censure, the debate in parliament did not allow adoption before December 31 to extend the use of restaurant vouchers for the purchase of products not directly consumable in supermarkets. The adoption of this measure favorable to the purchasing power of employees this week is therefore a relief. HASAfter this first step, the work of a more global overhaul of the title remains to be carried out with Minister Véronique Louwagie. The next few weeks will be busy to meet the expectations of the multiple players in the sector (employees, restaurateurs and issuers)” indicates Anne-Laure Blin.
