Saint-Sylvestre-sur-Lot. Manon Frances, “karate hopefuls”, 3rd in the French championship

It was in 2014, at the Saint-Sylvestre Karate club, that Manon began practicing karate under the guidance of her dad, Philippe Frances; she was 5 years old. Since then, Manon has traced her path in this combat sports discipline by winning numerous victories – departmental, regional, national – which led her to her integration, in the cadet category, at the Pôle in (Hérault) where she is trained by a coach from the French team. On December 1, 2024, this young sportswoman participated in the French cadet cup which took place in Villebon-sur-Yvette (Essonne). Manon won a very good 3rd place, “very close to being selected for the European Championships.” Today, Manon is classified among the “high-level athletes” by the Ministry of Sports, in the “karate hopefuls” category. Remaining faithful to her original club, very regularly, on Saturday afternoons, Manon trains young karatekas aged 8 to 14; a group of future competitors in the making.
