History
This is the fifth time in history that Brest and Nantes will face each other in the Coupe de France. The first time was during the 1986-1987 season with a victory for Brest on penalties, with a match played in Rennes during the 32nd finals.
Then, in 1990-1991, Nantes won at Brest in the round of 16. It was at the same stage of the competition that Brest, falling back to National, lost at Beaujoire 4-0 despite a great match from Franck Ribéry. Three years ago, finally, Michel Der Zakarian's SB29 lost 2-0 in Nantes, also in the 8th round, against the future winner of the Coupe de France.
