Saint-Nicolas: no sanction for a heavy goods vehicle driver who drove at 124 km/h in zone 50

The Liège criminal court, sitting on a police appeal, noted on Monday that the charges against a forty-year-old who had to answer for a significant speeding violation committed in an area where the speed was limited to 50 km/h had expired. He was traveling at 124 km/h, but will not be penalized.

The motorist, a heavy goods vehicle driver, was checked in 2021 in Saint-Nicolas (Liège) while he was driving at 124 km/h, in an area where the speed was limited to 50 km/h. The defendant had justified this speeding by claiming that his daughter was ill and that he had to intervene with her urgently.
