The water leak that affected the Dolbeau-Mistassini aqueduct network since Friday morning has been repaired. Teams from the Public Works Department worked all weekend to locate and resolve the breakage, according to the City.
The environmental health coordinator of Dolbeau-Mistassini, Michel Boily, indicates that even if the Municipality noticed on Friday that there was a leak, it was very complicated and very difficult
to spot it, since the water flowed underground.
You have to understand that we currently have around 1 meter of ice. The road is very icy and the leak was coming out from under the road, it never appeared
he said.
After several days, the leak was finally located at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Vézina Boulevard, in the Dolbeau sector.
Since Friday morning we have been listening to the network, doing active research. We spent the weekend there, then managed to find it this morning in the early hours
explains Mr. Boily.

Around twenty residences and businesses in the industrial district were deprived of water during excavation work on Monday.
However, according to Michel Boily, even if the water leak has been repaired, a boil water advisory will be in place for two to three days so that the City can carry out analyzes of the water quality in the affected area. .
The Dolbeau-Mistassini filtration plant will also be subject to major renovation work over the next two to three years.
