The new representative of the Caliph General of the Mourides known

The measure finally fell on the succession of the deceased representative, in Thiès, of the Caliph General of the Mourides, Serigne Saliou Touré, recalled to God on September 16, 2023. Sheikh Mountakha Bachir Mbacké has just designated the latter’s son, Serigne Ahmadou Bamba Touré , like any new representative of the Caliph of the Mourides, in the City of Rail.

It was Serigne Aboudou Samad Ibnou Serigne Souhaïbou Mbacké, visiting Thiès this weekend, who transmitted the message of the Caliph General to the disciples and the Mouride community of Thiès. A significant moment which was an opportunity for the faithful talibés to gather en masse to celebrate this new induction, a symbol of unity and continuity within the brotherhood.

The induction of Serigne Ahmadou Bamba Touré is part of a line of values ​​and traditions that his predecessor, Serigne Saliou Touré, was able to establish. The latter notably traced the path of Foulkoul Mashoune, a beautiful tradition which is strengthened each year during the holy month of Ramadan.

The faithful find that the continuity of this work is essential for the influence of the Mouride community, which finds in these rituals a means of affirming its spirituality and solidarity.
