Koba LaD sentenced to prison for violence against his manager

The rapper Koba LaD was sentenced to 15 months imprisonmentthis Monday, January 13, 2025, by the criminal court of Melun (Seine-et-Marne) for violence committed in 2022 on son manager historical, which the musician accuses of having defrauded him.

If he was relaxed for the charges of theft and kidnapping, the 24-year-old artist receivesa sentence heavier than the requisitions formulated last November, which were two prison sentences including one year suspended.

Already imprisoned for a fatal accident

The musician with three certified platinum albums and whose relationship with RnB singer Wejdene is causing social networks to panic, listened to the court deliver its decision by videoconferencingfrom the Fleury-Mérogis remand center (Essonne).

In September, Koba LaD, whose real name was Marcel Loutarila, was indicted and imprisoned for manslaughter in Val-de-Marne in a road accident.

His Parisian lawyer, M^e Stéphane Cherqui did not wish to make a statement following the deliberations. “This decision makes it possible to demonstrate that acts of violence even in the world of rap are sanctioned”, for his part reacted, M^e Jonathan Bellaiche, lawyer for the victim.

During the hearing in November, Marvin I. known as “Deuspi” recounted how, upon returning from a showcase in a club in Lille in April 2022, he was taken away in the early morning by members of Koba's entourage LaD, in an abandoned warehouse in Essonne. There he was beaten and lost consciousness.

In Vert-Saint-Denis

When the manager regains consciousness, he finds himself with a group of “six to seven” people in front of the home of his partner, Sarah B., in Vert-Saint-Denis, town in the agglomeration of Melun. Inside, his partner and his little brother are sequestered.

Before the judges, Koba LaD had recognized a fight in the street between them, on the night of April 17 to 18, 2022, but had denial any sequestration of his manager. “We rolled on the ground and fought,” he simply said, when the other defendants denied the facts which they claimed were “totally false”.

The court has relaxed these three people on Monday, in accordance with the requisitions.

Koba LaD accuses his manager of having him swindled of several hundreds of thousands of euros and filed a complaint against him after his arrest by the police in the case of violence and kidnapping. The investigation into this financial aspect is still ongoing.
