Mariama Ndiaye (photo) is a Senegalese technology entrepreneur specializing in finance. She is the founder and CEO of The UpTribe, a financial education company.
Created in 2020, The UpTribe’s mission is to promote the financial inclusion of Africans. Its financial automation platform offers young people financial products and services, accompanied by practical advice. The company provides various resources such as personal finance management courses, one-on-one mentoring sessions, articles, audio content and an online community.
The UpTribe’s training courses are adapted to the needs of businesses and entrepreneurs, while the coaching sessions aim to help everyone better manage their personal finances. Among the company’s flagship initiatives is Achieve, a program designed to support businesses. PEFE, meanwhile, is intended to strengthen the financial management skills of entrepreneurs, while Yokkuté Kom focuses on financial education in local languages for populations living in rural areas.
At the same time, The UpTribe is developing an innovative platform called FinEducation, with the aim of training 100,000 young people by 2026. This platform is specially designed for use in educational establishments.
Mariama Ndiaye holds a master’s degree in accounting and financial management obtained in 2018 at CESAG Business School in Senegal. In 2021, she also completed certificates in financial education and planning, complemented by a certificate in finance and financial management services in 2024.
-Her professional career began in 2015, when she completed an internship in risk management at Crédit Mutuel du Sénégal. In 2019, she became head of the YUX Design Academy, a Senegalese design training center. The following year, she held the position of financial accountant at the Solid Waste Management Coordination Unit in Dakar.
