Part of this national road will be closed until the end of February in Gers

La RN224 will be closed to traffic until the end of February 2025 in the Gers. You read 224 correctly and not 124. This is not the road that connects Auch to Toulousebut from the one which goes from Blagnac to L'Isle-Jourdain via Mondoville and Lévignac in Haute-Garonne.

But there is indeed a link between the two and it will even be strengthened. Because if the road is closed, it is to allow its connection to the RN124.

From Monday

Traffic will be prohibited from Monday January 13, 1 p.m. to Friday February 28, 2025, noon.

Only emergency vehicles, gendarmerie vehicles and local residents will be authorized to use this portion of the closed road near L'Isle-Jourdain.

DETOUR

A diversion will be put in place in both directions to bypass the affected area. The routes will take the RN124, the Pont-Peyrin interchange 13, the RD634, the RD924 and the RD654.

The circulation of vehicles over 3.5T, except for local services, will also be temporarily prohibited on the RD161 between L'Isle-Jourdain and Clermont-Savès, warns the Gers departmental council.

After the closures of the RN124

Last fall, work was carried out on the RN124 between Gimont and L’Isle-Jourdain which occupied the lives of users, with several phases of closure of the most important road in the department. But the project was completed earlier than expected.
