Diamniadio, January 12 (APS) – Jaraaf coach Malick Daff welcomed the “very important victory” of his team in front of ASEC Abidjan, ensuring that he will seek qualification in the next day in Algeria.
» Victory is very important (…) Qualification is in our hands. We are focusing on the next match. We are preparing for the match against USM Alger. We are going to Algiers to win,” he said at a press conference.
Jaraaf beat ASEC Abidjan (1-0) in a match counting for the 5th day of the African Football Confederation Cup (CAF).
With this success, Jaraaf takes second place in Group C with 8 points, behind USM Alger.
»I wanted to win the match with any result to prepare well for the last day. If we hadn’t won it was going to be complicated. I wanted to score more than one goal, it didn’t happen,” said Malick Daf.
According to him, the match was not won in advance, because ASEC is a great team. “It’s an academy which is used to major African competitions, it’s there regularly,” he underlined.
»We had a bad start to the group stages. We lost our first match since then, there is a clear improvement,” analyzed the former coach of the national under-20 team.
