For the first time this winter, yellow vigilance “very cold” was activated on Sunday January 12, 2025, in France. This will be the case again this Monday 13, but with a significantly greater number of departments impacted.

Eight departments were mentioned on January 12: there are 34 this Monday. From Aveyron to Bas-Rhin, going to the Ardennes and Loire-Atlantique via the Jura, the activity zone will therefore be much denserfor this second Monday of the year. Here is who is affected:

In this area, Météo France announces negative minimumsand temperatures which will struggle to rise despite omnipresent sunshine to start the week. As a reminder, as the forecasters explained, these extreme cold vigilances “take into account the climate of each regionand require values significantly lower seasonal norms of the region concerned.

This is not the only active alert since Météo France has triggered vigilance for wind, avalanches but also floods. For this last reason, two departments are at the orange level: Aisne and Oise.
