teachers’ hike in Dagana

This Sunday, January 12, there was no school, but teachers from the Dagana department were out. The national movement of patriotic teachers (MONEP) organized a hike there. The objective was to raise awareness among populations about civics and citizenship.

The walkers took the route from the Cité des Cadres roundabout to the Escale district, defying the ambient heat. Faly Diop, president of MONEP, explained the reasons behind this event. “We organized this sporting and cultural activity to respond to the call from the authorities who want to institutionalize good citizenship and citizenship by raising awareness among populations on these two aspects,” he confided to the APS. And to specify that everything was done in collaboration with the Defense and Security Forces which according to him “play an essential role in safeguarding the sovereignty and prosperity of the country”.
