In the town of Richard-Toll, the National Movement of Patriotic Teachers (MONEP) took the initiative to raise public awareness of the values of citizenship and good citizenship through a hike, organized last Sunday. The event was designed as a concrete response to the authorities’ call to institutionalize these values in Senegalese society.
The president of MONEP, Faly Diop, said that the activity combined sport and culture to support the initiative of the authorities, considered essential by educators. According to him, defense and security forces also participated in the event, highlighting their crucial role in protecting the country’s sovereignty and development. Diop encouraged his colleagues to increase this type of initiative to raise awareness.
The hike took place in a dynamic setting, starting from the Cité des Cadres roundabout and ending in the Escale district. This symbolic action expresses the participants’ commitment to defending and promoting civic-mindedness and citizenship within their community.
