In a speech for the occasion, the president of the Maroc Equestre Trophy, Badr Fakir indicated that this annual prize aims to celebrate the riders who have left their mark on national equestrian sport in 2024. According to him, the 2024 edition is promising of particular values, to the extent that it has devoted the interest that the president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports, Moulay Abdellah Alaoui, continues to grant the development of equestrian sport so that it reaches its rightful place and continues to shine further.
He indicated, in this sense, that a new approach was adopted from the previous edition, with the establishment of ten categories, evaluated by a jury comprising the best referees and experts, whether in show jumping or in traditional equestrian arts, saluting the riders who distinguished themselves in 2024 on the national and international levels. During this ceremony, which was enhanced by the presence of numerous figures from the worlds of sport and art, ten prizes were awarded to the winners chosen from a list comprising 46 candidates.
Thus, the “Talent” Prize went to the rider Ibrahim Benssy, the “Faras” prize to the horse Cocota, ridden by Mohamed Azoum, the “Espoir” prize to the rider Nermine Zouhri and the “Merit” prize to the rider Mohcine Yakhou of the police cavalry school. The “Equi’Spirit” prize went to the Madrid club from the Dar Es Salam club in Rabat, the “Equi perf” prize to the Le Lac club team, the “Encouragement” prize to the Oued Ykem club, winner of the Coupe du Throne 2024 in show jumping, while the “Recognition” prize was won ex-aequo by the equestrian trainer Abdelhak Kaddouri and the former rider Ahmed Darrar.
The organizers also presented an exceptional prize to five riders who took part in the Olympic Games in the dressage (London-2012), show jumping (Rio 2016), dressage and team show jumping (Tokyo) events. -2020) and eventing (Paris 2024), namely Yassine Rahmouni, Nour Slaoui, El Ghali Boukaa, Ali Lahrech and Abdelkebir Ouaddar. In addition, the Morocco Equestrian Trophy awarded honorary prizes to the sorba of Mokadem Charaf El Bahraoui of traditional equestrian arts, winner of the HM King Mohammed VI Prize in El Jadida, to the rider Farid Amanzar, vice-champion of Morocco 2024 and who distinguished itself during the Longines Global Champions Tour, organized last October in Rabat.
On this occasion, a tribute was paid to Hassan Jrondi, riding coach and director of the documentary “Ayout et Mkahel” produced by the “Al Oula” channel on the occasion of the organization of the 2024 Hassan II Equestrian Arts Trophy in Dar Es Salaam. Note that the jury for this trophy, chaired by former rider Nadia Doghmi, was composed of Jilali Erguig, Moqaddem of a Tbourida sorba, and Samira Bennani, pioneer of automobile racing on an Arab and African scale.
