Scheduled from September 26 to 30, 2025, the 3th edition of the Kréyol Film Festival (KIFF), which celebrates the richness of cinema in the Creole-speaking world while embracing the universal, is actively preparing. While waiting for this event to take place and to retain its audience, KIFF, which aims to highlight and be a means of cultural reappropriation and safeguarding the intangible heritage of this Creole-speaking space, is offering Ti-Kreyollywood, a new cinematographic event dedicated exclusively to the world of short films.
This quarterly meeting, a window open to the Creole-speaking space which extends over 5 continents, and “wealth of captivating stories and emerging professional talent “, is also understood as a meeting place which aims to ” promote the creativity of filmmakers by highlighting the cultures, histories, philosophies and environments specific to Creole worlds.”
9 short films of all genres
On the Ti-Kreyollywood program set for January 25, 9 short films of all genres (fiction, animation, documentary, etc.) which will be screened during the same session. Among these short films is “But where is the moon », the animated film by Martinican director Eric Sterkers. A special story between the moon and the sun.
Better known under the pseudonym Steric, Eric Sterkers is a graphic designer, author and illustrator of children’s books, passionate about animated images and papers. He notably signed “This is how mermaids are born », « The Balloon », “Médard’s croquettes », « Titiri’s donut » « Crossing the Rivière-Salée » et « Zanimo ». “But where is the moon » is his first animated film produced individually.
