After the dismissal pronounced in December in the alleged rape case in Argentina, the La Rochelle third row can be summoned again to the France team. Response Wednesday from Fabien Galthié.
On December 10, Argentine justice dismissed the case of alleged rape concerning the two French internationals, Hugo Auradou from Palois and Oscar Jégou from Rochelais, considering that the criminal offense was not constituted. The lawyer for the plaintiff, a 39-year-old Argentinian woman, has decided to appeal this dismissal and it will be examined on February 10 and 11. Me Natacha Romano had announced her intention to exhaust all avenues of appeal against this decision.
In fact, both players can now be selected for the France team. “As long as there is no official dismissal, Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jégou will not play again in the French team. The position that I express is that of the FFR”, declared, before this first verdict, Jean-Marc Lhermet, the vice-president of the French Federation and responsible for the French teams.

“Now there is a lot more sun for him”
Stade Rochelais manager Ronan O’Gara is campaigning for a return to Blue for his third row Oscar Jégou. “He is a very good player who deserves, at least, to be in the squad. Is he capable of integrating the 23? I can’t say”declared the Irish technician to our colleagues at South West adding that his player “is performing well, he went through an extremely difficult personal period, but now there is a lot more sunshine for him.”
In mid-December, O’Gara had already declared: “I am his coach, I am very proud of him, but it is not easy. I will remain hyper-vigilant around him because he is a child, he is very young, he needs to be protected, to learn and to be educated like the others. On July 16, a week after the alleged facts, the coach of the XV of France, Fabien Galthié took a position for the second line of Pau and the third line of La Rochelle. “I don’t speak of them in the imperfect tense. They are still part of our nuggets, he declared. All I can say about that is that the two players you are talking about were very good in Mendoza. Really, very, very good.”
