This weekend, there’s no doubt, it’s definitely winter. If Météo France has triggered extreme cold vigilance for the first time this season in eight departments in the south of France, part of the north-east of France is affected by a snow-ice yellow vigilance.
The snowy episode continues
The departments concerned are: Pas-de-Calais, Nord, Somme, Oise, Aisne, Seine-et-Marne, Aube, Marne, Ardennes, Meuse, Haute-Marne , Vosges, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin.
Vigilance runs until 12 p.m..
Since Wednesday, the Nord and Pas-de-Calais have been subject to snowy episodes, the organ alert had even been triggered. Thursday January 9, the prefect of the North announced the death of two people due to the weather.
-Orange flood alert
Four departments remain affected by orange flood vigilance: Ille-et-Vilaine, Eure, Val-d’Oise and Aisne.
Watch out for southerly winds
In the southern departments, another vigilance is underway: that for vent.
Yellow vigilance is triggered in Aude, Pyrénées-Orientales, Lozère, Gard, Ardèche, Bouches-du-Rhône, Vaucluse and Haute-Savoie.
Note that Lozère is also concerned by vigilance extreme coldwhich can accentuate this phenomenon in particular by lowering the temperature felt.
