During the celebration of National Girls’ Education Day, an initiative led by the Ministry of National Education, of which she was the godmother this year, the First Lady, Marie Khone Faye, called for concrete actions in favor for girls for this new year.
This edition was marked by a ceremony chaired by Ms. Faye, who highlighted the many assets of Senegal to become a model of progress and solidarity on the international scene.
“To do this, we must together mobilize all the vital forces of the Nation, in order to overcome the challenges and build a better future for all. Thus, we will contribute to the construction of a fairer and more equitable society as recommended by the Senegal 2050 national transformation agenda.she said.
The First Lady also insisted on the need to make this year a turning point for girls’ education. She stressed that this day offered a valuable opportunity to recall the crucial importance of education for all girls in Senegal.

This event embodies our common vision of a future where every girl, regardless of her place of birth, her status, will have the same opportunities to learn, grow and fully participate in the socio-economic development of the country,” she said. added.
The theme chosen for this year, “social and educational equity, for inclusive and quality education, at the heart of our missions”, reflects, according to Marie Khone Faye, the importance of promoting girls’ education as a driving force for socio-economic development of the country.
