A 41-year-old woman killed in Cenon, Gironde, her husband taken into police custody

The facts occurred Thursday afternoon. The victim had three children.

A man is suspected of having slit the throat of his 41-year-old wife in their apartment in Cenon (Gironde), around 2:30 p.m., Thursday January 9, reports “ici Gironde”. The suspect, a 43-year-old man from Bordeaux, called the police who intervened two hours later. He was arrested and placed in police custody, indicates the Bordeaux prosecutor’s office. An investigation into “murder by spouse” has been opened. It is entrusted to the territorial crime division. The prosecutor went to the scene as well as the forensic doctors.

The mayor of Cenon, Jean-François Egron, reacted to “ici Gironde”. “We think directly of her family, her three young children, one of whom suffers from the autism spectrum. It’s a real tragedy, because she was a discreet but smiling woman and very committed to her work”he declared.
