Two training workshops, organized by the Regional Academy of Education and Training in partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, mobilized students and coordinators around the “Eco-schools” and “Young People” programs. reporters for the environment. Training workshops on the “Eco-schools” and “Young reporters for the environment” programs were organized, Monday and Tuesday, for the benefit of students and coordinators of environmental clubs involved in these two programs in the region of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra.
Organized by the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra, these two workshops are part of the implementation of the partnership agreement and the joint action program between the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports.
The “Eco-schools” workshop, open to preschool and primary school students, was an opportunity to emphasize the theoretical and conceptual dimension of this program, as well as the practical steps to join it.
This workshop was also an opportunity to supervise regional and provincial coordinators, with a view to supporting the implementation of the said program at the level of educational establishments in the region.
The Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection has placed emphasis on educational innovation, by introducing interactive activities to the program, adapted to each age group of participants and focused on the presentation of new educational tools developed by the Foundation.
-The second workshop on the “Young Reporters for the Environment” program was an opportunity to present to participants the techniques of writing and producing photographic and video reports on an environmental issue at the local level.
The two workshops made it possible to share the new features of the two programs relating in particular to the integration of artificial intelligence, and the strengthening of the twinning project at the international level, as well as the addition of transversal themes, such as sport, cultural heritage, and strengthening themes related to biodiversity and the ocean to broaden the scope of programs and target essential aspects of education for sustainable development.
The 2024-2025 edition of the “Eco-schools” and “Young reporters for the environment” sustainable development education programs aims to shed light on innovation, motivation and sharing of experience, and hence creating a framework conducive to constructive exchanges between all stakeholders.
