The general director of the national transport company Dakar Dem Dikk (DDD), Assane Mbengue, announced that the company’s daily revenues increased from 25 to 52 million CFA francs, while the number of passengers transported daily doubled , reaching 110,000 against 50,000 previously.
When I arrived, the company was flying just under 50,000 passengers per day. Today, the latest results show 110,000 travelers per day. That’s more than double in six months. ”, said M. Mbengue.
In an interview published Wednesday by the daily Le Soleil, he stated that “ daily revenues also increased from 25 million to 52 million CFA francs. He specifies that these data do not take into account the shuttles that DDD provides between Dakar and Blaise-Diagne airport, nor the travelers from Senegal Dem Dikk, those that the company transports between Dakar and other regions of the country.
The general director also announces the commissioning of intelligent buses which have already been presented to the authorities. “We had more than 90% satisfaction with the tests carried out. Today, the receiver only exists in a few countries, including Senegal“, he remarked.
-He also expressed the wish for the extension of the Africa Dem Dikk project launched in 2020 to other countries in the region. “If the resources are available, we plan to go as far as Morocco and other countries in the region, including the two Guineas and Mali,” he said.
Note that DDD buses have already started to reach Gambia as part of the Africa Dem Dikk project.
