Canada Post has issued an update regarding the resumption of its service offering since the strike.
Although mail volumes are still high, it specifies that it has restored on-time delivery guarantees and all service levels for domestic parcels since January 6.
Service levels for processing and delivery have returned to normal across the country, including in rural and remote regions.
However, there are still delays for transactional mail.
“We continue to process accumulated Domestic Transaction Mail items in addition to new volumes deposited,” notes Canada Post. “We should therefore continue to expect delivery delays of several days beyond our service standard for transactional mail, such as letters, invoices and statements.”
The situation is similar for local mail where a large number of items still need to be processed and delivered. “Delivery delays of several days should be expected,” it says.
The processing of accumulated international mail and parcels is also speeding up, but customers should continue to expect a delivery delay of several days at this level. (N.P.)
