A 75-year-old man driving a pickup truck died Tuesday morning after a collision with a train in Cochrane, according to the James Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Police are investigating the causes of this fatal collision.

Tuesday morning, the PPO, the local fire department and the Timmins Ambulance Service responded to the scene of the collision on Lillabelle Lake Road.

The driver was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Lillabelle Lake Road was closed around the crossing while police investigated.
