According to data from the International Organization of Automobile Manufacturers (OICA) collected by Rue20, Morocco contributes 0.6% to global automobile production.
According to the report published by the international organization, Morocco has already overtaken European countries like Belgium, and has reached double the production of Portugal. This result reflects the growth of the industrial sector in this North African country and the rise of the Made in Morocco brand.
OICA considers Morocco as a country booming in the automotive sectorwhich is gradually approaching the status of a major player in the industry.
Last year, exports from the automotive sector reached 150 billion dirhams, thus consolidating its position as the Kingdom’s leading exporting industrythanks to a highly integrated system.

This sector has not only established itself as one of the most important in the country in terms of production and export, but it has also positioned Morocco on the global automobile market.
The Kingdom has become a major vehicle production center in North Africawith a strong emphasis on exports. Furthermore, in 2022, Morocco has already surpassed European countries in terms of automobile production, ranking among the top vehicle producers on the continent.
