On the occasion of end of year celebrationsBertrand Gaume, prefect of the Hauts-de-France region, prefect of Nordhas taken administrative police measures since December 19, in order “to prevent disturbances to public order in the department,” it is specified in a press release. Here are the measures concerning New Year’s Eve for the transition from 2024 to 2025.

Prohibited from distributing or purchasing fuel in cans, and from using fireworks for individuals

Thus, it is recalled that from December 30, 2024 (12 p.m.) to January 2, 2025 (8 a.m.):

• it is forbidden to distribute, purchase and sell fuel in transportable containers throughout the department;

• it is forbidden for people who are not fireworks professionals to purchase, transport, use and possess fireworks throughout the department.

The Northern Prefect asked all security and relief forces to remain mobilized during these festivities.
